Jeffrey Henderson's path to his current position was anything but straight and clear. He attended University of Oklahoma and received a bachelor's degree in anthropology. Before moving on to graduate school, he took several years to help run a number of his family's businesses, which proved to change the course of his life and education. Several of his family's businesses were in need of an electronic financial system. He taught himself about computer hardware and software and built a few computers and added software that was compatible with the accountant's. Afterwards, he returned to graduate school, obtaining a master's degree in business administration from OU. Henderson began working for University Outreach directly after graduate school, in support of the Year 2000 update project. Shortly thereafter, he chose a systems administration position in CCE-IT over other job offers. He successfully competed for the position of director of CCE-IT, after more than a year as the chief systems administrator.
