Pamela Hockett-Lewis, B.A.
Director, Community Training and Resource Institute

B.A., University of Oklahoma

Pamela Hockett-Lewis is the director of the Community Training and Resource Institute at the University of Oklahoma. She also serves as Director of the Center for Chamber Excellence Program, Oklahoma Byways and Safe Routes to School Programs.

Pamela has coordinated efforts for various state and federal agencies with the goal of bringing creative development solutions to communities. She uses her background in education and project management to teach and train to a wide variety of audiences with the goal of bringing innovation and opportunities to communities throughout Oklahoma.

In this role, she partners with communities across the Oklahoma and other states to align the resources of the University with the needs of rural and metropolitan areas. Pam has worked with The Oklahoma Department of Transportation and the Federal Highways Administration to develop Oklahoma’s natural and built resources including extensive corridor management studies that emphasis environmental and roadway concerns across the state.  This partnership has also included work with many Native American governments.

As director of the Center for Chamber Excellence, Pam is responsible for the training and development of chambers of commerce in the states of Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. Pamela is a certified project manager and holds a Six Sigma Green Belt. She serves on many community based councils and groups including a 7 state marketing council for developing and maintaining the environment and serves on the board of directors for Keep Oklahoma Beautiful.

Her prior work at the University of Oklahoma includes work administering training programs for state agencies with the University’s Center for Public Management. She also served as a program administrator for the Sooner Flight Academy, a youth outreach program designed to expose pre collegiate students to the study of aviation and science. Prior to her employment at OU, she was an educator at Moore- Norman Technology Center.
