The Positive Learning Climates KnowledgeBase is an online resource to aid educators in nurturing school climates conducive to learning. It is organized around five elements aimed at developing a positive learning climate.

Task 5: Assess Family and Community Factors

Guideline: Students are affected by their home and community environments. Understanding a community's demographic, socio-economic, ethnic and health profiles is important when assessing impact on the school and students. Understanding these factors is important in creating a positive learning climate.
