The Classroom Assessment KnowledgeBase is an online resource for state departments of education to use as part of their professional development efforts with districts and schools. Organized around five elements, it brings together concepts, how-to guidance, tools, and resources about classroom assessment.

Task 2: Work Through Considerations for Selecting Pre-existing Assessments

Guideline: Selection parameters must be established prior to choosing a pre-existing assessment. These criteria should include how the assessment will fulfill the intended purpose and how the output will be used in making instructional decisions.
