The Positive Learning Climates KnowledgeBase is an online resource to aid educators in nurturing school climates conducive to learning. It is organized around five elements aimed at developing a positive learning climate.

Task 1: School Climate

Guideline: The completed school climate profile is a tool the principal can use to assess the school's environment and its impact on student safety and academic achievement. It identifies opportunities for creating a positive school climate.

Characteristics of a Safe and Responsive School

This link is to Section 2 of Early Warning Timely Response, A Guide to Safe Schools developed by the Center for Collaboration and Practice. Section 2 offers a list of 13 school climate-related attributes of safe and responsive schools. School administrators may find the list helpful when assessing their school's climate and identifying opportunities for improvement.
