The English Language Learner (ELL) KnowledgeBase for Administrators and Teachers is an online resource supporting both the administration, teaching and execution of programs for English learning students. It offers resources related to Office for Civil Rights (OCR) requirements and the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).


Task 4: Establish the English Language Parent Advisory Committee

Guideline: The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) states that "each eligible entity using funds provided under this title to provide a language instruction educational program shall implement an effective means of outreach to parents of limited English proficient children to inform such parents of how they can be involved in the education of their children and assist them achieve academic success." Organizing a parent advisory committee is a way to meet this requirement. Such a committee enables school staff members and parents to interact.
