The Positive Learning Climates KnowledgeBase is an online resource to aid educators in nurturing school climates conducive to learning. It is organized around five elements aimed at developing a positive learning climate.
Task 2: Family and Community Factors
Guideline: Using the completed family and community profile, a principal can assess how the external environment is impacting school safety and student academic achievement. These findings can identify focus areas for creating a positive school climate.
This resource is part of Education Northwest's series of safe schools guidebooks. Fostering School, Family, and Community Involvement helps educators identify and discuss the issues involved with school, families, and community organizations working together to enhance the school climate.
