Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the University of Oklahoma Outreach, I welcome you to our inaugural newsletter. This publication is designed to inform you about the incredible work being done across our departments, which are dedicated to advancing knowledge, expanding access to education, and improving the lives of Oklahomans and beyond. The University of Oklahoma Outreach is a lifelong learning organization dedicated to helping businesses, individuals, groups, and communities transform themselves through knowledge. As a life-long learning organization, we are committed to providing educational opportunities that empower individuals and communities to thrive in a rapidly changing world. We develop programs that promote life-long learning by fostering engagement with diverse partners and new ideas and perspectives. Our partnerships within and outside the university are critical to the success of our initiatives.

Our departments span a wide range of disciplines and areas of focus, from business to education to healthcare, early childhood, disabilities, at-risk youth, health, and human services, research, and evaluation, public radio, American Indian issues, and prevention. Each department is committed to creating innovative solutions to real-world challenges. Our dedicated staff, faculty partners, and other collaborators, including local, state, and federal agencies, are passionate about our work and are committed to making a difference in the lives of others.

In this newsletter, you will find articles highlighting the achievements of our departments, updates on new initiatives and programs, and interviews with faculty and staff members. We hope this publication will help you stay connected with the University of Oklahoma Outreach and inspire you to participate in our work.

I extend special thanks to our editor, Mr. William Boni, for his commitment to ushering the newsletter forward and his passion for communicating to others the excellent work underway in Outreach. Additionally, I want to thank everyone in Outreach who submitted articles for inclusion in our newsletter. I know you had to take time from your hectic schedules to take on this additional task.
