Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As we turn the page into the new year, I am thrilled to reflect on our incredible journey over the past several months. This season offers an opportunity to celebrate achievements, acknowledge challenges, and look forward with renewed purpose.
One of the highlights of this winter was the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame Induction and Conference in Florence, Italy. We had the privilege of inducting 18 distinguished leaders from around the world, celebrating their contributions to adult and continuing education. The event also deepened our partnership with the University of Florence, whose support and collaboration were instrumental in making the conference a resounding success. We are also grateful to Worldwide Tech Connections in Tulsa for introducing their cutting-edge communication technologies at the conference, helping to break down language barriers, and creating a truly inclusive experience for attendees.
We also gathered this fall for a special celebration at the Boyd House, hosted by our OU President, Joe Harroz, Jr., to honor the success of the Postal Service National Center for Employee Development (NCED) contract. This milestone underscores the exceptional work of our team in training and development, and it was a joy to celebrate with wonderful food, inspiring remarks, and heartfelt camaraderie.
This edition of our newsletter highlights many exciting updates across Outreach. You’ll read about our Winter Event, which brought staff together for reflective and celebratory storytelling inspired by the themes of connection and vulnerability. We also spotlight the achievements of many Outreach departments and staff whose contributions significantly impact our communities.
Amidst these moments of celebration, we also take time to reflect on the challenges our broader community has faced. The recent tragedy in Los Angeles has left a mark on our hearts, and we stand in solidarity with those grieving the loss of lives, property, and communities. As we look forward, let us continue to support one another with compassion and determination to rebuild and heal.
As always, none of this would be possible without the extraordinary efforts of our Outreach staff, funders, partners, and supporters. Thank you for your continued dedication and shared vision for a brighter, more inclusive future.
Warmest regards,
Belinda Biscoe, Ph.D.
