Award for Amber Romo

Published: Thursday, August 8, 2024

This year’s recipient of the 2024 Regents' E. Neal Stone Superior Performance Award was none other than our very own Director of Research for Educational Training, Evaluation, Assessment, and Measurement (E-TEAM) Department, Amber Romo.

To be eligible for this award, a staff member must have “consistently demonstrated superior job performance, and/or outstanding service to the University or to outside community or professional activities on behalf of the University.”

Although Amber exemplifies exceptional leadership qualities and serves as a commendable role model for her team, it is important to note that Amber's contributions extend beyond her primary roles. She has played a pivotal role in securing funding for E-TEAM through various state and federal grants and contracts. Her collaborations with esteemed institutions such as the OU School of Social Work, the OK Able Commission, the Oklahoma Department of Education, the Arkansas Department of Education, National Center for Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention, The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Oklahoma Juvenile Affairs, and NASA highlight her versatility and capability to navigate diverse partnerships.  She is also a sought-after figure for her expertise, often tapped by various departments across the university. Her willingness to collaborate transcends organizational silos, enriching interdisciplinary endeavors and fostering a cohesive university ecosystem. In essence, Amber's service and dedication transcend mere participation; they represent a profound commitment to the university's overarching mission.

Congratulations, Amber!
