In Loving Memory of Darlynn Dietrich

Published: Friday, February 27, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Darlynn Dietrich, who served as Executive Program Assistant to Dr. Belinda Biscoe for Outreach.
Darlynn brought more than three decades of administrative expertise to our college, along with a deep commitment to excellence and service. A proud University of Oklahoma alumna, she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from OU and completed all but her dissertation in Cultural Anthropology at Indiana University in Bloomington. Her academic journey reflected her intellectual brilliance, resilience, and determination, qualities that defined her both personally and professionally.

On a personal note, Darlynn and I worked side by side for many years. I had the privilege of watching her grow into the extraordinary woman and professional she became. She was bright, capable, and fiercely committed to doing things well. She supported me and this college with loyalty, discretion, and a work ethic that never wavered. But beyond her skills, she gave us her heart. She cared deeply about the work, our mission, and the people who make Outreach what it is.

Darlynn believed in growth and in possibility. She met life’s challenges with courage and continued striving to become her best self. That spirit inspired me and many of you.

She leaves behind a lasting imprint on Outreach and on my own life. I am deeply grateful for the years we shared, and for the many ways she strengthened this community.

Darlynn is survived by her husband of over 30 years, Jeff Crook; her sister, Jamie Woodruff; her cats; and many friends and colleagues who will dearly miss her.
