In July, over 25 Project SEARCH Oklahoma partners attended the National Project SEARCH Conference in Austin Texas. For the second consecutive year, our Integris Southwest/Oklahoma City Public Schools team achieved a 100% employment placement rate! Additionally, our teams from Mercy/Francis Tuttle Technology Center, Integris Baptist/Francis Tuttle Technology Center, and Wyndham Grand Oklahoma City/Metro Technology Center received Excellence awards for achieving 70-90% employment outcomes. We are proud of our Project SEARCH Oklahoma teams!
What is Project SEARCH?
Project SEARCH is a nine-month internship program designed to prepare students for entry-level employment. Through partnerships, the program takes place in a business setting, where total immersion in the workplace facilitates the teaching and learning process through acquisition of competitive work skills. Each Project SEARCH site is a collaboration among a host business, a local school or technology center, the Department of Rehabilitation Services, a local community rehabilitation provider, and The University of Oklahoma National Center for Disability Education Training.
