For 22 remarkable years the University of Oklahoma Outreach/College of Continuing Education has been blessed with the presence of Dr. Susan Kimmel. 

Susan dedicated herself to advancing early childhood education and empowering educators. As the esteemed Director of the Center for Early Childhood Professional Development, Adjunct Professor, and founder of the Instructional Coaching Institute, her impact has been profound. Her leadership in Early Reading First research, her presentations on national and international stages, and her passion for organizational leadership, teacher professional development, and emergent literacy have made a lasting difference in the lives of countless children and educators.

Susan’s commitment, passion, and tireless efforts have shaped the future of early childhood education, fostering school readiness and nurturing the growth of our youngest learners. We celebrate her incredible legacy and the love and dedication she poured into her work. She truly made a difference in the lives of others.
