The Oklahoma Project SEARCH

The Oklahoma Project SEARCH interns have completed their programs and are now embarking on their job search journey!  All 10 sites in Oklahoma have celebrated their graduations, and started the process of seeking competitive, integrated employment within the community.

Union City, OK — June 6, 2025 — The CPM Forge Your Trail program celebrated the graduation of its second cohort from the “On My Shoulders” parenting-skills course at the Union City Community Correctional Center (UCCCC). After seven weeks of instruction, six inmates successfully completed the program, which is designed to help incarcerated fathers strengthen their parenting abilities ahead of reentry into their families and communities.

The 15th Annual Professionalizing Youth Work in Oklahoma Conference (PYW) marked a major milestone in the state’s commitment to elevating the field of youth services. Hostedby the Oklahoma Human Services Child Welfare Services Special Placements and Partnerships Unit (SPPU), in collaboration with the University of Oklahoma OUTREACH National Resource Center for Youth Services (NRCYS) Trauma-Informed Care Project, and in partnership with key state agencies and youth-serving organizations, this year’s event was a powerful celebration of progress, passion, and purpose.

Professional Learning

In April Outreach’s Education Technical Assistance Services (EDUTAS) recognized 55 Oklahoma school administrators for their participation in professional learning cohorts during the 2024-25 school year.

Santa Fe South (SFS) Schools, a public charter school district located in the south Oklahoma City metro area, has recently been identified as a recipient of an Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) Oklahoma Comprehensive Literacy State Development Grant (CLSD). SFS Schools, in turn, has named OU Outreach-developed ELQA as its “valid and reliable assessment for progress monitoring purposes,” as stipulated in grant requirements.

On April 8, 2025, the University of Oklahoma’s College of Continuing Education (CCE), University Outreach held its annual State of Outreach meeting titled Embracing the Future: The Power of Artificial Intelligence. Nearly 300 staff members participated in-person at Norman’s Embassy Suites & Conference Center and via Zoom.
